As part of Mental Health Awareness Week this May, we want to invite you to a FREE webinar focused on an important and often overlooked topic of grief and how it shows up in our work lives – from physical symptoms like fatigue and aches, to emotional experiences such as isolation, “grief brain,” and difficulty connecting with colleagues.
Mette Hvied Lauesen, a Bereavement Counsellor & Coach, will discuss the challenges of returning to work after a loss; how employers can create compassionate, grief-aware workplaces and what individuals can do to support themselves and their colleagues.
Mette Hvied Lauesen helps people suffering from stress, burnout and grief learn what to do if or when it happens next time.
In 2017 Mette Hvied Lauesen had her second major burnout and had to leave her 25+year career as a communications advisor. On paper it looked very attractive, but it was not good for Mette or her mental health.
Since 2018 Mette has had hundreds of grief conversations with broken hearts as she’s certified in providing help so that people will feel better following loss and bereavement. Mette uses a step-by-step method which is very structured and is backed up by science.
Mette Hvied Lauesen is also a certified stress coach who can provide the help necessary for people on their way to a burn-out or back to life. She uses a solid, step-by-step and methodical approach which gets the work done and which is backed up by science.
When Mette is not talking to clients, she’s delivering leadership and project management trainings for researchers all over mainly Europe but also India and North America.
It’s important to Mette that we all thrive to the best of our ability and that we know how to use our talents in the best possible way. And ultimately it’s all about thriving and getting the most and the best out of life.
Mette finds that you can get a long way with a bit of humour thrown into the otherwise quite seriously mix.
Grief is a natural response to a loss which impacts our emotions, mental health and well-being, negatively affecting all aspects of our lives. It is impossible to “leave it at home”: grief follows us into the workplace, impacting our focus, motivation, and overall performance. In fact, at any given time, 1 in 10 people are grieving in a way that directly impacts their ability to work.

We’ll discuss how employers can create compassionate, grief-aware workplaces and what individuals can do to navigate their own return to work and support themselves and their colleagues.
