Deirdre helps parents, partners, friends and family members to understand the important role that they play in their loved one’s eating disorder recovery and teach them tools and techniques to help support their loved one. She believes that family members are the hidden ‘superpower’ in an individuals recovery from an eating disorder.
By bringing together her own (hard-earned) personal experiences and professional knowledge, Deirdre now helps other parents, partners, friends and family members who are on the path that she was once on.
Deirdre works with both parents and individuals and run online group programmes for parents affected by eating disorders. She has delivered numerous workshops and webinars to both sporting and large commercial organisations, and to healthcare professionals.
Deirdre holds an Advanced Diploma in Coaching and a Diploma in Eating Disorders (approved by the British Psychological Society). She is a member of the International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals and the European Coaching and Mentoring Council, she is also an Associate Instructor with Youth Mental Health First Aid Ireland.
